For NHS trusts, health boards and pathology networks

One record of temperature control, for every department that answers for it

A hospital answers to several inspectors at once: UKAS for pathology, the MHRA for blood, the HTA for the mortuary and the CQC for wards and pharmacy. We monitor for 25 NHS trusts, health boards and pathology networks, with 3,900+ assets monitored across 77 sites, 1,000 of them in London.

  • Wards, theatres, pharmacy, pathology, blood transfusion and mortuary
  • Alarms that reach a person, day and night
  • Traceable or UKAS calibration for every sensor we supply (UKAS accredited calibration laboratory No. 10723 for temperature)

What inspectors ask you

Four regimes, one set of temperature evidence

Each department has its own rules. All of them ask for the same three things: the right limits, alarms someone acted on, and calibrated sensors.

What we monitor

Every fridge, freezer and store the trust answers for

  • Wards and theatres

Medicine and drug fridges, blood fridges in theatres and room temperatures where stock is kept.

  • Pharmacy

Aseptic units, dispensary fridges, cold rooms and vaccine stores, each with its own limits and alarm route.

  • Pathology and blood transfusion

Blood bank fridges, plasma freezers, platelet incubators and reagent stores, ready for UKAS and MHRA.

  • Mortuary

Body stores and freezers, monitored and alarmed, with the records the HTA expects to see.

Questions

What people in your sector ask us

Can one system cover pathology, pharmacy and the mortuary?

Yes. Each department sees its own units, limits and alarm routes, and each inspector gets the records for their area. University Hospitals of Leicester monitors 350+ assets across three hospitals on one system.

Who gets the alarm at night?

You decide per unit: the on-call biomedical scientist for blood, the pharmacy on-call for drug fridges, site estates for a cold room. Each alarm records who responded and what they did.

What does calibration cover?

Calibration for every sensor we supply: traceable to national standards as standard, or UKAS accredited where you need it (temperature in our own UKAS accredited calibration laboratory No. 10723; other parameters through accredited partners). We calibrate in the lab or on your site.

We already have an older wireless system. Do we have to replace it all at once?

No. We can keep older wireless systems running and move department by department. See older system support.
