For sites with a legacy monitoring install

Support for your legacy system, and a planned upgrade to Sematics sensors

Running Hanwell-protocol sensors, a System 5 install or an IceSpy-era system? We keep existing legacy installs serviced, calibrated and recording while you plan an upgrade to current Sematics sensors, site by site, with no gap in the record.

  • Existing legacy installs kept supported
  • Calibration for the sensors you already have
  • A planned upgrade to current Sematics sensors

The short answer

Can we keep using a legacy monitoring system?

For now, yes, as long as it is maintained, calibrated and its records stay available for your audit. We no longer supply legacy sensors; we support existing installs and plan the upgrade to current Sematics sensors with you, with old and new overlapping so there is no gap. See legacy sensors we still support.

The move, without a gap

Keep it running, then move site by site

How a planned move runs
  1. Support the legacy installService, repair, calibrate
  2. Plan the upgradeSite by site, to your budget
  3. OverlapLegacy and Sematics sensors side by side, so the record has no gap
  4. UpgradedCurrent Sematics sensors, alarms and records on one platform

What's included

Support now, an upgrade planned

We support existing legacy installs while you plan. New sensors are current Sematics sensors.

  • Service and repair

We keep the system you already have running, so the records keep coming.

  • Calibration

Temperature sensors calibrated in our own UKAS accredited calibration laboratory No. 10723 or on site, other parameters through accredited partners.

  • A health check

We look at the sensors, the software and where your history is kept, and tell you what could fail first.

  • An upgrade plan

Site by site, to current Sematics sensors, at a pace your budget allows, rather than one large swap and one large bill.

  • No gap in the record

Old and new systems overlap during the move, so every unit is monitored throughout.

  • One team after

On Sematics, alarms, records and calibration sit on one platform, with the same team supporting you.

How it works

From keeping it going to moving on

  1. 01

    Check what you have

Make, model, sensor count, software and where the records live.

  2. 02

    Keep it supported

Service, repair and calibration so the system keeps recording.

  3. 03

    Plan the move

Which sites first, the budget and how long the systems overlap.

  4. 04

    Move site by site

Sematics fitted, tested and running before the old system is taken out.

Questions

What people ask us

How would your system stand up to your next audit?

That's what the 20-minute check answers. We look at whether every unit is still recording, whether the calibration is in date and whether you could produce the records if the PC they live on failed tomorrow.

Which systems do you support?

Existing legacy installs, including Hanwell-protocol sensors, System 5 and IceSpy-era systems. We no longer supply legacy sensors: replacements and new units are current Sematics sensors. The list is on legacy sensors we still support.

Do we have to replace our system?

Not straight away. We keep your existing install supported while we plan the upgrade with you; when a legacy sensor fails, it is replaced with a current Sematics sensor.

Can you move our historical records?

It depends on what your system can export. We check that with you before you commit to a move, and the old records stay available during the overlap.

Can you calibrate our existing sensors?

Yes. Temperature sensors in our own UKAS accredited calibration laboratory No. 10723 or on site, within our accredited range; humidity and other parameters through accredited partners.
